Fond de soutien au développement et à la promotion de l’IA

In the framework of the recently funded national program for artificial intelligence, MIAI @ Grenoble Alpes (ANR-19-P3IA-0003) is launching a call for application to sustain the development and promotion of AI. The projects will be funded up to 7.5k€ for one year.

Scientific scope of MIAI

MIAI, the Grenoble Multidisciplinary Institute in Artificial Intelligence, develops the new generation of AI models and systems, from hardware architectures to software systems, with a focus on three application domains related to human beings and the environment: Health, Environment & Energy, and Industry 4.0. In addition, MIAI investigates the cross-fertilization of AI and human and social sciences.

Terms of the call

This call is open to the MIAI community.
Projects are encouraged to have a strong collaborative character and foster interactions between MIAI partner labs, national or international collaborators and/or industrials collaborators. The selection will be based on the scientific quality of the project, the collaborations it relies on, in particular industrial collaborations, and its interdisciplinary dimension.

Evaluation process:

Proposals should be prepared using the attached template. Applications are open all year round with two decision sessions (5 May 2020 for the Spring session, and 6 October 2020 for the Autumn session).
Assessment and ranking of the proposals will be carried out by the MIAI scientific board. For each session 7 to 15 projects will be supported (on a case-by-case basis). The decision will be communicated rapidly after the deadlines and selected projects will then have one year to use the allocated budget.

Important dates and submission information:

Projects should be submitted (single pdf file sent to Manel Boumegoura – see below) by:

  • Monday 27 April 12:00pm for the Spring session.
  • Monday 28 September 12:00pm for the Autumn session.

Each pdf file should be named as: YOURLASTNAME-OpenCallMIAI.pdf

Budget information:

Global budget per year: 100 k€ (for typically around 20 projects)
Amount of the allocated funding: typically, from €3.5K to €7.5K per project.
