DreamNet : a privacy preserving continual learning algorithm for face emotion recognition
Marion Mainsant-Barrera is a PhD student at CEA. She obtained an engineering degree in biomedical engineering at PHELMA Grenoble INP-UGA and a Master in cognitive sciences in 2018. After working for two years in machine learning for brain computer interfaces (BCI) at Clinatec, she started a PhD in artificial intelligence for affective computing.
Her research is about continual learning and personalization for face emotion recognition.
11h35 – 12h05
Affect recognition using temporal CNN and video-based physiological signalsHussein Al Osman is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa and leads the Multimedia Processing and Interaction Group. He completed his Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on affective computing, specifically multimodal affect estimation, human-computer interaction, serious gaming, and multimedia systems.
12h05 – 12h20
Multi-modal Fusion for Continuous Emotion Recognition by Using Auto-EncodersSalam Hamieh is a PhD student at CEA-LETI. She received the B.Eng. degree in computer communication engineering from the Lebanese University in 2020 and a master degree in Signal Image Processing from Grenoble INP-UGA. Her main research interests include Affective Computing, Machine Learning, Stress prediction, anomaly detection and semi-supervised learning.
12h20 – 12h35
Contrastive Learning for Wearable Sensor DataKatie Matton is a second year PhD student in the Affective Computing Group at the MIT Media Lab and the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT. Prior to coming to MIT, Katherine received her M.S.E. and B.S.E. degrees in computer science at the University of Michigan. Her research interests are at the intersection of machine learning, affective computing, and behavioral health.
12h35 – 12h50
Computational Empathy Facilitates Human Creative Problem SolvingMatt Groh is a computational social scientist and PhD candidate in the Affective Computing group at the MIT Media Lab. Matt has a master's degree in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT and a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College. His research examines human-AI collaborative decision-making with a focus on three real-world problems: misinformation, algorithmic bias, and hidden influences of affect on decision-making.
12h50 – 13h00
Current technologies and challenges for the development of emotionally intelligent systemsChristelle Godin is research director at CEA-Leti. She received the Ph.D. degree in computer systems from Supaéro, in 2000 and the Habilitation degree in signal processing from Grenoble University in 2011. She works on signal processing and artificial intelligence for sensor systems with a current focus on affective computing.
